This semester, our executive board has grown tremendously in an effort to focus on community and collaboration within the Entrepreneurs Club. We added several new positions including Co-Directors of Community, a Director of IT, and our first-ever dedicated Content Creators (one of which is me!).

Our Spring 2021 board is proactively fulfilling its commitment to educating, inspiring, and empowering the student innovators, leaders, and founders of this school. With an increase in membership, we now have a whopping 23 members with different majors and backgrounds whose sole aim is to bring value to the Northeastern community.

Being an active member in E-Club’s core programs is how a lot of our current board members got to where they are today. Eight of our members were previous HSC participants (Rachna, Matt, Taryn, Neil, Hulda, Max, Nate, Ganesh) and seven were previous Embassadors (Or, Jenny, Matt, Max, Nate, Neil, Simran). Come for the programs and stay for the people!

That’s enough from me — time to meet these wonderful folks!

President

Neil Bhammar

Hometown: Burlington, MA

  • Who are you? Neil is a third-year Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Entrepreneurial Engineering student. Outside of E-Club, he is the Head of Operations at BusRight and an investment partner at Dorm Room Fund. His TL;DR is that he’s startup obsessed — outside of that, he loves music and is an obsessive sugar fiend (borderline addict).
  • Why did you join E-Club? Neil joined E-Club because of the people. He joined in the spring of his freshman year and felt like he finally found his people — folks who were going to constantly push him to improve.

The humans of E-Club are incomparably the best people I have ever met. It’s also pretty crazy to interact with the types of speakers we bring in. E-Club runs akin to a startup, not a student organization, so we do a whole lot of fast-pace iteration and collaboration and are just generally very scrappy. I can attribute most of my personal and professional growth these past 3 years to E-Club in some way, shape, or form. E-Club has opened my eyes to what entrepreneurship is — it’s not hustle porn, ‘garyvee-esque’ videos + get rich quick schemes; it’s scrappiness, passion, and a disgusting amount of ups and downs.

Vice Presidents

Taryn Livingstone

Hometown: Windham, NH

  • Who are you? Taryn is a second-year Mechanical Engineering major and Computer Science minor and the Vice President of Programs at E-Club. She is currently a Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management Co-op at WHOOP. In her free time, Taryn loves to bake, be outside, play the ukulele, and practice sustainability.
  • Why did you join E-Club? She joined the E-Board the summer after her freshman year after participating in The Husky Startup Challenge, which opened her eyes to how entrepreneurship was an ecosystem rather than a ladder.

I feel like everyone’s E-Club journey is a bit unique, and mine is no exception — it actually started when I was a senior in high school, trying to decide where to go to college. One of my friends at NEU at the time who was involved with Mosaic connected me to some of his friends, and they really sold me on how exciting the student entrepreneurship scene was here.

If I could make a graph of personal development over time, the rate since joining E-Club would be exponential. I’ve learned SO much about what it means to be an innovator through leading the HSC and working with like-minded folks.

Hulda Zheng

Hometown: New Rochelle, NY

  • Who are you? Hulda is a fourth-year Business Administration and Experience & Interaction Design combined major. She is the Vice President of Community and Marketing at E-Club, as well as a Design Strategist at Scout Labs working with the Boston Mayor’s Office of New Mechanics to improve community engagement, and a radio show host at WRBB (tune in to LAST CALL Thursdays at 1 pm). Hulda is passionate about using design thinking to affect change, learning about herself and the people around her, and trying new things. She loves listening to music, making art, exploration through traveling, and eating a plethora of fruit.
  • Why did you join E-Club? Hulda first joined E-Club through The Husky Startup Challenge, which she said has flipped her college experience on its head. She joined the board immediately after and has loved every minute since.

The experience of being on this board is unlike anything else. It is genuinely one of the most supportive and dedicated communities I’ve ever been a part of. I’ve worked at mid-sized to large companies for both of my Co-ops and being a part of E-Club has opened my eyes to all the nuances of startup culture that I love and want to continue being a part of.

It’s my first taste of being in a role like this and there’s nothing that could’ve prepared me for it other than stepping in and figuring it out. That ambiguity has empowered me to become a more tenacious, more adaptable, and more emotionally intelligent individual in and out of E-Club.

Marketing

Jennifer James

Hometown: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

  • Who are you? Jenny is a second-year Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Communications major with a minor in Consulting. She is the Director of Marketing at E-Club, as well as the WeLearn Associate at WISE and the Communication and Info Ops Coordinator at IDEA. She is also the Co-Founder of a youth empowerment platform called Mettre En Lumière. She loves singing in her free time and has a small YouTube channel where she posts song covers.
  • Why did you join E-Club? Whenever Jenny went to a Northeastern event — in-person or online — E-Club always surfaced somehow. Her freshman year, she encountered so many individuals who raved about E-Club and the opportunities it presented to them that it left her curious to test the waters.

I love the E-Club community. Everyone on the team is so exceptionally talented that you’re constantly in admiration. There’s also so much room for cross-collaboration; I thought I would be out here doing ‘Marketing 101’ but I’ve been presented with such cool opportunities like helping with the Engage ‘How to Podcast’ workshop.

E-Club has provided me with a safe space to constantly learn. It would be an understatement to say that I have bolstered so many of my skills at this organization. Overall, I feel more confident in my abilities to go out and achieve. So yes, E-Club is everything you hear about. But, even better.

Ananya Shah

Hometown: Hyderabad, Telangana (India)

  • Who are you? Ananya is a first-year combined Economics and Business major. On E-Board, she is the Social Media Manager. She is also part of TAMID’s educational board and works on her social entrepreneurship venture, Bindu, hoping to impact millions by 2025. She loves reading, climbing trees, cooking and swimming!
  • Why did you join E-Club? Ananya joined E-Club because she wanted to be inspired. She stayed because she loved the culture and the people.

People at E-Club inspire me and truly motivate me to be better. I’ve already learned so many new tech things to enhance my personal workplace. Also, I learned how to better work with teams and communicate more effectively and efficiently.

Ethan Pidgeon

Hometown: South Orange, NJ

  • Who are you? Ethan is a second-year combined Business and Design major. He is a Design Mentor working to guide the E-Club design team based on his experience as a board member last semester. He is also a photographer and videographer on the Scout team, the Director of Design at NUImpact, and is completing his first Co-op at Unispace. In addition to design and photography, he loves the outdoors; particularly backpacking, hiking, and skiing.
  • Why did you join E-Club? Ethan joined E-Club after seeing a posting that they were looking for a photographer. He had been eager to get involved anyway and thought it would be a great opportunity to do so. He’s been a team member since the Spring of 2020, and since worked as a photographer and designer.

Emily Gringorten

  • Who are you? Emily is a second-year Computer Science major and Business minor. This semester, she’s a Designer on E-board, creating visual content such as videos and animations for both E-Club and the IDEA Venture Accelerator. She loves all things music (especially live concerts). In her free time, she loves taking photos, watching movies, and walking around and exploring Boston.
  • Why did you join E-Club? Emily joined E-Club just to get more experience creating content for people other than herself, but she was so blown away by how dedicated and inspiring everyone in the community is. She enjoyed being on the board last year and can’t wait for what’s to come this semester.

My favorite thing about being in E-Club is the connections I’ve made with other board members and community members. It’s also pretty sick to see my work all over the socials! Since joining, I’ve not only developed my technical skills, but also have come a long way in terms of forming my own creative style.

Oliver Hu

Hometown: Sharon, MA

  • Who are you? Oliver is a fourth-year combined Business Administration and Graphic Design major. On E-Board, he is the Collateral Designer responsible for the creative decisions behind all things graphics. He is also a Studio Designer on the Scout team. He loves cooking food, eating food, and listening to a song for the first time.
  • Why did you join E-Club? Oliver likes to create things for other people and thought E-Club could be a great opportunity to do so.

Atari Probosutedjo

Hometown: Jakarta, Indonesia

  • Who are you? Atari is a second-year studying FinTech and Experience Design. She is working as a Collateral Designer for E-Club. Aside from that, Atari is also the Co-Director of Marketing for Disrupt — The FinTech Initiative and is involved in a couple of Indonesian associations in Massachusetts. When she’s not working on Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Figma simultaneously, she loves to kill time at modern art museums and discover new cafes!
  • Why did you join E-Club? She primarily joined E-Club to connect with a bunch of people and to improve my design skills and wanted to learn more about the startup environment in the U.S. She loves the people at E-Club, as everyone here is super supportive, passionate about what they do, and they inspire me to do what I love!

I’ve had a creative block for awhile and E-Club is helping me in re-discovering my design style! I love that I’m given a lot of freedom in what I do and I’m definitely making bolder choices when it comes to design.

Content

Rachna Lewis

Hometown: Middleton, MA

  • Who are you? Rachna is a second-year Computer Science major and Psychology minor. She acted as Associate Director of HSC (Spring ‘19), Co-Director of HSC (Fall ‘20), and is currently taking on the role of Content Creator as an extension of the marketing team at E-Club. She loves basketball, drumming, cooking Indian food, and listening to rap.
  • Why did you join E-Club? Rachna started as a participant in The Husky Startup Challenge during the fall of her freshman year, where she Co-Founded a 3-D selfie printing startup. Her inspiration to join stemmed from my love for entrepreneurship in tech, as a computer science major hoping to work on a software startup… and from stepping on one too many E-Club flyers taped on the path leading back to East Village.

The Entrepreneurs Club is a family that has welcomed me since my first semester at Northeastern. For myself, as well as so many others in the community, E-Club has definded my experiences here, allowed me to cultivate new friendships, and made me passionate about areas I never dreamed I would be interested in.

Nicole Danuwidjaja

Hometown: Sacramento, CA

  • Who are you? Nicole is a third-year combined Computer Science and Business major currently on Co-op at Datadog. She is one of the content creators for this semester. Later on this semester, Nicole is moving to NYC and working on building a roommate app with a group of friends. She will also be competing in an intercollegiate tourney for the Northeastern Chess Club. She loves card games, music (Quinn XCII, Paramore, Glass Animals), and going on new adventures.
  • Why did you join E-Club? Nicole joined E-Club this school year because she was always super interested in pursuing her own business and growing in my interests in entrepreneurship. Seeing Demo Day and attending multiple E-Club events was always a blast for her, and she really wanted to take her participation a step further — so last semester she applied to be a Co-Director of Husky Startup Challenge.

I really love interacting with people completely outside of my major and with such diverse backgrounds and experiences. People at E-Club have incredible, infectious energy and I’ve loved working with them!

Since joining E-Club and directing HSC, I have learned quite a lot of tips on being “scrappy” and a go-getter, and I think that’s definitely something that I’ve applied to my work ethic and innovation.

Operations

Joe Chou

Hometown: New York, NY

  • Who are you? Joe is a third-year Business Administration major with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Consulting. He is the Director of Operations and largely focuses on behind the scenes work, such as event meeting creation and merch orders. Off the board, he is a Security Evaluation Co-op at Wellington Management Company tracking various funds and ensuring correct pricing of different securities. He loves playing basketball at Marino and just kicking back and watching some Netflix.
  • Why did you join E-Club? Joe joined E-Club because of the group of motivated and creative individuals that you can meet here.

I love being surrounded by so many people who are constantly working so hard and thinking outside the box. Being around them makes me want to push myself to become the best version of myself too. By seeing so many different creative people it forces me to think differently as well.

Nate Peters

Hometown: Annandale, VA

  • Who are you? Nate is a first-year Industrial Engineering major. He is the Director of IT at E-Club and is passionate about Spikeball and personal knowledge management.
  • Why did you join E-club? I got involved in E-Club right after coming to campus. I knew I wanted to be around entrepreneurs who loved to create, so I did HSC my first semester at Northeastern and founded my venture, Tight, and loved it!

I joined the E-board to see how I could contribute to the work that E-Club does by making it run more smoothly and improving their workflows.

Embassadors

Or Behiri

Hometown: Scotch Plains, NJ

  • Who are you? Or is a second-year Business major concentrating in Finance and Accounting. He is currently an Audit and Assurance Co-op at Deloitte. He loves to travel, run, and seek new thrills! Or is the Co-Director of Embassadors at E-Club, as well as a Husky Ambassador, FFC Lead Instructor, and TAMID Consulting Analyst.

Nicolette Simitian

Hometown: Huntington Beach, CA

  • Who are you? Nicolette is a fourth-year Marketing Analytics and Finance major and is the Co-Director of the Embassadors Program. She is passionate about womxn empowerment, people-inspired tech, politics, social justice, and comedy. Some of her hobbies include consuming media, listening to music and podcasts, reading, journaling, hiking, and skiing.
  • Why did you join E-Club? She joined E-Club to help answer the question of “what entrepreneurship means to me.” She loves how driven the people at E-Club are and wholeheartedly believes that people are our greatest learning tools.

Before my last Co-op and joining E-Club, I did not embody an entrepreneurial mindset in my work. I suffered from analysis paralysis, was risk-averse, and lacked being nimble-minded. I now embrace change and have a drive to disrupt.

Through this club, I realized that entrepreneurship does not look the same in one person to the next. Joining E-Club and leveraging the network and resources has aided in my discovery of how I can be an entrepreneur and finally find a meaning that suits me. Although I still have ways to improve as an innovator, my time thus far in E-Club has helped me develop the mindset necessary to be innovative but I still need to learn to lead with innovation in my actions and life.

Community

Simran Bajaj

Hometown: South Brunswick, NJ

  • Who are you? Simran is a second-year Business Administration and Psychology major. She is the Co-Director of Community, working on putting events together to engage our entire community and make sure every member is supported. She is also on Co-op at Eze Software Group and is taking her startup LifeWire through Generate, with plans to build on it over the course of the next year. Simran has been a dancer for thirteen years and loves making art with charcoal, pencils, watercolor, and airbrush. She also loves boba tea, Marvel movies, and Avatar the Last Airbender.
  • Why did you join E-Club? Simran joined E-Club because she was looking for a community that could push her and supports her passions. She was looking to learn from people with different perspectives and ideas and how they approach problem-solving.

I unexpectedly found out that entrepreneurship was one of my passions because of how unique the journeys could be. I enjoy how enthusiastic everyone always is and how members of the community constantly encourage the people around them.

Ganesh Kolli

Hometown: Orange County, CA

  • Who are you? Ganesh is a third-year Electrical and Computer Engineering major. He’s working as the Co-Director of Community at E-Club. Outside of E-Club, he is also a Build Studio Engineer in Generate. Ganesh enjoys doing robotics research and practicing standup comedy, and is also interested in surfing, music production, and baking bagels!
  • Why did you join E-Club? Ganesh joined E-Club as a freshman through HSC as a way to learn more about bringing my ideas out into the ‘real world,’ and he loved every minute of it.

“Cliche as it is, the best thing about E-Club is the community — I have met so many driven students across so many disciplines, working on so many interesting projects; this group is unreal, and I really encourage anyone reading this to join!

Since joining E-Club, I have improved as an innovator by developing creative problem-solving skills and developing a growth-mindset — this was through HSC, learning amazing skills through Engage, and listening to some of the world’s most successful innovators at TSS.

Husky Startup Challenge

Kasey Zhang

Hometown: Wellesley, MA

  • Who are you? Kasey is a second-year Business major with a concentration in entrepreneurship & innovation. He is the Co-Director of the Husky Startup Challenge, and is working as Director of Business Development for the esports startup he co-founded called Challengers Uprising. He is also coaching the Varsity League of Legends esports team at Northeastern. Kasey is interested in esports, early startups, and discovering new music.
  • Why did you join E-Club? Kasey joined E-Club because he wanted to get more involved with the entrepreneurial ecosystem at Northeastern this semester as an extension of the work he’s been doing Challengers Uprising. Kasey also wanted to see what exciting projects other people were working on — the co-director HSC position was perfect since it’s been an opportunity for him to ‘give back’ and support other aspiring entrepreneurs at Northeastern.

Something that I personally find great about Northeastern is that people are always working on something — it makes for some really interesting conversations.

There are a lot of things that I’ve had to work on for E-Club, and something that’s really helped me improve as an innovator is the constant flow of feedback. The E-Board is super collaborative, and everyone helps each other learn, improve, and grow!

Kevin (Taeyoon) Jin

Hometown: Seoul, South Korea

  • Who are you? Kevin is a second-year Computer Science and Business Administration combined major. He is the Co-Director of the Husky Startup Challenge as well as a Coach at IDEA for early-stage ventures. Some of his main hobbies include soccer, piano and drums, design, computer programming, photography, cinematography, and most importantly: startups.
  • Why did you join E-Club? At a young age, Kevin was addicted to starting small businesses and went on to found his own company at age 13. He decided to get really knee-deep into the world of startups about 5 years ago working for many different startups in Shanghai, Seoul, and Singapore. He also worked at Chinaccelerator — the premier accelerating program in Asia backed by SOSV. Three years ago, he founded a company in the ed-tech space. He’s also planning on starting a new startup in the developer tools space.

I joined E-Club because I was so inspired by the Northeastern entrepreneurship community in MOSAIC that I knew I had to be a part of the team immediately. Like most people at E-Club, it was love at first sight.

Joanna Jacob

Hometown: Jakarta, Indonesia

  • Who are you? Joanna is a third-year Finance and Accounting major. She is the Associate Director of the Husky Startup Challenge as well as Vice President of Disrupt — The FinTech Initiative. She is completing her second Co-op at Goldman Sachs as a Global Equity Sales Associate. Some of her hobbies include boxing, reading, and playing musical instruments.
  • Why did you join E-Club? Her favorite part of E-Club is interacting with the students taking ventures through The Husky Startup Challenge. As Associate Director, she enjoys holding one-on-one office hours so she can get to know HSC participants more personally and help them work through challenges.

I wanted to be surrounded by passionate, creative, and driven people, which is why I decided to join E-Club. I love working with startups, and the best feeling is seeing something that you’ve built from the ground up finally come together!

Since joining, I’ve felt constantly challenged to think outside the box and search for problems instead of creating ‘un-validated food’.

Engage

Shreya Mitra

Hometown: Exton, PA

  • Who are you? Shreya is a second-year Computer Science and Business major, hoping to also minor in Journalism. She’s the Co-Director of Engage and a member of TAMID, currently working on an AR mobile app as a part of the technical consulting track. A few of her interests include writing, skateboarding, concerts, and making really specific Spotify playlists.
  • Why did you join E-Club? Shreya got involved with E-Club her second semester at Northeastern through joining the Husky Startup Challenge and has stayed involved ever since.

One of the things I love most about E-Club is the opportunity to talk to so many driven and talented fellow students and learn their stories. E-Club has helped me further develop my skills in networking and effectively collaborate with others.

Max Sussman

Hometown: Westport, CT

  • Who are you? Max is a second-year Business and Entrepreneurship major. This semester, he is the co-director of Engage. Off the board, he is a Category Management Co-op at Wayfair working with the Youth Bedroom team. He also loves basketball, cooking, watching TV, and spending time outside.
  • Why did you join E-Club? Max was a finalist in the Husky Startup Challenge last semester developing his venture Radish, an online marketplace for artisanal goods. He noticed how driven and passionate every member on the board was and he felt like he could fit right in.

E-Club is an unbelievable organization. Entrepreneurship in and of itself is an extremely vague concept. There is no predisposition of interest that goes into being an entrepreneur, and E-Club is a perfect representation of that philosophy. There are so many different majors, passions, and perspectives represented in this club that by being a part of it you are exposed to so much more outside your major/area of study.

Despite the amazing programs, people, and opportunities that are presented in any given semester, the global exposure that E-Club offers is by far the aspect I enjoy the most. HSC was by far one of the most rewarding experiences and I could not recommend it more to anyone who goes to Northeastern.

Matt Swenson

Hometown: Chattanooga, TN

  • Who are you? Matt is a fourth-year Computer Engineering major who’s passionate about entrepreneurship, photography, healthcare, and running. He is the Associate Director of Engage and was last semester’s Associate Director of the Husky Startup Challenge. He is currently on Co-op as a software developer at Imprivata (for the third time).
  • Why did you join E-Club? Matt joined E-Club because it was the first organization or club on campus that welcomed him with open arms. He gained valuable advice and learned a lot of skills by participating in E-Club’s programs, including The Husky Startup Challenge in Fall ’19. Matt had a startup idea that he wanted to do something with. HSC was the best opportunity for him to learn about what it means to be an entrepreneur and explore his different interests.

I believe the people in E-Club are what makes it the best. I see everyone as extremely motivated, easygoing, and understanding. I also enjoy how there is frequent cross-collaboration, so no two days are spent working on the same thing.

I would best describe E-Club as operating like a startup, which means there’s frequent opportunities to accomplish tasks in unusual ways. For me, E-Club has taught me how to be scrappy and be inventive, which is something I value a lot.
